Hope Center For the Arts

264 Cottage Street, Springfield MA, Springfield, MA, 01104

History

The Hope Center for the Arts occupies the former CityStage in downtown Springfield, Massachusetts. Pride Stores founder Robert Bolduc and the Hope for the Arts foundation bought the space in 2024 and opened the renovated center in June 2025 after about a year of work. MassLive describes a roughly 500-seat Hope Theater used for youth arts programs and concerts, including the July 2025 Springfield Jazz and Roots Festival. The theater was built in 1984 as StageWest and renamed CityStage in 1998; CityStage had been vacant after closing in 2018. Sources: MassLive, Aug. 8, 2025, and Sept. 10, 2025.
