Riff

Code of Conduct

How to be on this board. It applies to reviews, chat, photos, friend requests, and messages. It sits alongside the Terms of Service.

Be a person someone wants at the show

Talk about the music. Disagree about the bill. Don’t make the room worse. The same rule is the comments, the chat, and a direct message.

No harassment

No threats, hate, sexual harassment, stalking, or piling on. No slurs aimed at someone. Don’t keep contacting a person who has rejected you. A rejected friend request stays rejected until they decide otherwise. Do not make a new account to get around a no.

No spam, scams, or fake names

Don’t use messages or reviews to sell, phish, or flood people. Don’t pretend to be a band, a venue, or another listener. Usernames are one per person and stay locked once taken — don’t squat a name to impersonate someone.

Friends and messages

A friend request is an ask, not a connection. They can accept or reject. You can message someone only after you are accepted friends. Don’t send a request just to push a promo, a ticket link, or a complaint.

Other people’s stuff

Don’t post private information: phone numbers, addresses, or a photo of someone who didn’t agree. Don’t upload a recording, poster, or photo you don’t have the right to share. Set lists and memories are welcome. Bootlegs and stolen artwork are not.

The board itself

Don’t scrape Riff to clone it, don’t hammer the player, and don’t file fake shows. If a listing is wrong, say so. Don’t invent a bill and present it as fact.

If this breaks

We can take down a review, drop a message, reject the behavior, or close the account. Serious threats may be referred to the venue or to law enforcement. Stopping use of Riff is always available to you. These rules are part of the terms you accept when you sign up.
