History
CityStage is the downtown Springfield theater inside the Columbus Center parking garage on Bridge Street. It was known as StageWest until 1998, has the 479-seat Blake Theater and the 83-seat Winifred Arms Studio, and closed December 7, 2018, when Springfield Performing Arts Development Corp. ended its management of CityStage and Symphony Hall. The Springfield Parking Authority, which owns the building, later hosted limited jazz concerts there. In 2024–2025 the former CityStage was renovated and reopened as the Hope Center for the Arts. Sources: MassLive, July 10, 2019, and Aug. 8 and Sept. 10, 2025.
