Chapel Tavern

1085 S Virginia St, Reno, NV · about 120

History

Chapel Tavern opened in Midtown Reno in 2006 under owner Duncan Mitchell as a neighborhood cocktail bar built around whiskey, beer, and carefully made drinks. The bar moved a couple of blocks north to 1099 S. Virginia Street in 2012; the band Keyser, which had played the first show at the original room, played the first show in the new space. Manager Sean Stitt bought the tavern from Mitchell in 2022 and kept its ambitious cocktail program, later named a James Beard Foundation finalist for Outstanding Bar Program.
