Alturas Bar Cellar Stage

History

Cellar Stage is the basement room under the Alturas Bar. Edible Reno-Tahoe says the stage launched in 2019, holds about 170, and uses a low 10-inch stage booked by Dennis McDonald, who has brought in Sponge, Agent Orange, Green Jellÿ, and Anvil. This Is Reno (2021) calls Alturas the longest-running Reno bar under one name, about 94 years then, with a basement that hosted blues including Buddy Guy and Jonny Lang in the 1970s and 1980s; the current owner bought it in 2017.
