Adair's Saloon

2624 Commerce St, Dallas, TX · about 120

History

S.L. and Ann Adair opened the beer joint in February 1963 on Cedar Springs, feeding college students half-pound cheeseburgers and letting them graffiti the walls. Lois and R.L. Adair bought it in 1977, held a farewell at Cedar Springs in 1982, and reopened on Commerce Street in Deep Ellum in January 1983 as Adair's Saloon. After her husband died, Lois started booking live country; Jack Ingram began there and recorded "Live at Adair's." She sold it in 2006 to employees who kept the stage and the burgers.
