Helen DeVitt Jones Theater, Buddy Holly Hall

History

The Helen DeVitt Jones Theater is the main hall of the Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences, 1300 Mac Davis Lane, Lubbock. Ground broke April 20, 2017; the $158 million building opened in January 2021, and the first event inside this theater was January 16, 2021. Designers Diamond Schmitt with Parkhill, MWM, and Schuler Shook published it as a 2,297-seat room whose orchestra section can convert to standing room; the hall also holds the 415-seat Crickets Theater.
