History
The Loft was the second-floor concert room at 414 E. Michigan Avenue in downtown Lansing, in the building that also holds the Tin Can, Tin Can Taps, and Duke’s Saloon. It opened in February 2010 with a capacity of about 500 and booked national and local bills, including a 2016 Insane Clown Posse show remembered for more than 1,200 liters of Faygo on the floor. It announced a permanent close in August 2020 during the pandemic. In July 2021 the same room reopened as The Studio at 414, an events space run with Doug Johns, Shawn Elliott, and Stacey Wesolek.
