Atlanta Symphony Hall

History
Atlanta Symphony Hall is the home concert hall of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, inside the Woodruff Arts Center at 1280 Peachtree Street in Midtown Atlanta. Wikipedia lists a capacity of 1,762 seats on three levels: 1,074 in the orchestra, 349 in the lower balcony, and 339 in the upper balcony, plus wheelchair spaces and up to 82 pit seats depending on the setup. The orchestra’s first recording there, a Robert Shaw Christmas album, was made in 1975. Seating and air-conditioning work was approved ahead of the 1996 Olympics. A proposed replacement, the Atlanta Symphony Center, was abandoned in the mid-2000s for lack of funding, and the hall still hosts the orchestra, the Atlanta Pops, and occasional pop and rock shows.
