Bio

The Red Elvises are a Los Angeles band founded in the mid-1990s by Igor Yuzov and Oleg Bernov, Russian-born musicians who had played together in the folk-dance group Limpopo; guitarist Zhenya Kolykhanov (Zhenya Rock) was an early member, and American drummer Avi Sills later joined. They mix rock and roll, surf, rockabilly, and Russian folk, with lyrics in English and Russian, a style their own site calls Siberian surf rock. Early albums include Grooving to the Moscow Beat (1996), Surfing in Siberia (1997), and I Wanna See You Belly Dance (1998), the last tied to a VH1 documentary.
