Bio
Igor Yuzov, frontman of Igor & the Red Elvises, was born in Germany, raised in Ukraine, and studied in Russia. He grew up in the Soviet Union, where folk music was the norm and rock and roll was illegal, then left for the United States with the folk'n'roll band Limpopo, which won Ed McMahon's Star Search in 1993 and was greeted by Ronald Reagan. In 1995 he said a dream of Elvis Presley told him to play rock and roll, and he and his Russian friends became the Red Elvises, busking on Santa Monica's Third Street Promenade until the city stopped the shows. His official bio calls the sound Siberian surf rock.
