Bio

DERBY is the project of Craig Caldwell, a Houston-born, New York-based singer, songwriter, and producer. Pitchfork’s review of his 2025 debut album Slugger describes Americana-tinged R&B and indie pop that draws on rural memory, and a Live Nation tour bio notes an earlier 2021 mixtape, Hireath, before that record. He records for Many Horses and keeps a site at d3rby.net.
