Bio
Interpol were note perfect and Turn on the Bright Lights is one of the best albums in the last 50 years hands down but Alexandra Palace is simply a terrible venue for live music. It's not designed to be and it shows. Because the floor is flat (unlike Brixton / Hammersmith Academy etc) you simply don't see anything unless you are 6'6". Therefore you don't really see the band and therefore can't really connect with them and what they are trying to do. I wasn't the only one. I saw scores of people who gave up and sat in the food area instead and heard a guy on the phone talking to his wife describing it as soulless and I couldn't agree more.
