Ralph's Rock Diner

148 Grove St., Worcester, MA, 01605

History

In 1979 Ralph N. Moberly and his wife, Carolyn, bought the Chadwick Square Diner, a 1930 Worcester Lunch Car, moved it to the old Northworks complex off Grove Street, and turned it into a rock club. It became a home for local punk and garage bands and for touring acts, with a diner menu, pool tables, and a full bar. Moberly sold it in November 2002 to former bartender Vincent Hemmeter. The room still books punk, hardcore, metal, and other live music around the lunch-car counter.
