Moontown Sound

History

MoonTown Sound (listed here as Moontown Sound) is a north Springfield music room at 1135 E. Commercial St., at Commercial and National. The Springfield Daily Citizen reported on July 11, 2025, that co-owners including Matt Baker and David Bates had leased the 2,800-square-foot, 240-capacity space in January 2025 and were aiming to open in September 2025, with door money going to the musicians and the house making its money on drinks and merchandise. Ozarks First named the owners as Matt and Christina Baker and Ash and David Bates and described a stage with multiple cameras and projectors.
