White Schoolhouse

History

The White Schoolhouse at 1510 N. Third St. in North Lawrence was a one-room school, later a function hall and a bar called Ichabod's. A 2026 neighborhood page dates the building to 1929; the Lawrence Journal-World, writing in 2018, said it had been a school for almost 100 years. All-ages shows began in August 2017, first with Petri Productions (Paige Batson, with Paul DeGeorge), using a basement stage; LAAND later co-hosts concerts there, billed all-ages. The Get Up Kids filmed the video for "I'm Sorry" at the building in 2018. (Lawrence Journal-World, Sept. 4, 2018; White Schoolhouse public page)
