Kung Fu Necktie

History

Kung Fu Necktie is a dive bar and music room at 1248 N. Front Street, on the Fishtown–Kensington line. It opened in 2008 in the former Penalty Box Sports Bar after a renovation that raised the ceiling, added a bar, and built tables from old bowling-alley lanes. The room books ticketed local and touring shows most nights, often twice on weekends, with a tight floor in front of a small stage under a disco ball. It is also the longtime home of Emo Night Philly.
