History

City of Wilmington outdoor theater on the south side of Greenfield Lake, also called the Hugh Morton Amphitheater. The city says an open-air bowl was built in 1962 with wooden benches left from the 1938 Lost Colony premiere, renovated in 2008 for $1.2 million, and listed for 1,400 people. The city owns it; Live Nation manages shows. City Council designated Greenfield Park, including the venue, a local historic landmark in April 2011.
