Covey Center

History

The Covey Center for the Arts is in downtown Provo, in the former city library. A March 27, 2023 Provo City release says it opened in 2007, draws more than 175,000 patrons and about 300 performances a year, and holds a 670-seat main hall, a 95-seat black box, and a 100-seat recital hall. The Daily Herald reported the Aug. 23, 2007 naming for Sandra Covey, who donated $2 million, and a project cost of about $8.5 million.
