History

Heartwood Soundstage is the performing-arts room and studio at 619 S. Main St., Gainesville, inside the former South Main Station. Its about page says Bob McPeek, Dave Melosh, Hoch Shitama, and Paul Pavelka founded it in 2017 by joining two Gainesville studios, Mirror Image (begun by McPeek and Pavelka in 1977) and Medusa (begun by Melosh). It calls Heartwood the seventh and largest version of that 1977 studio. In 2025 the nonprofit Heartwood Foundation (EIN 83-0677735) bought Heartwood Soundstage LLC. Visit Gainesville lists Cowboy Mouth there on October 16, 2026. (heartwoodsoundstage.com/about; visitgainesville.com)
