History

Dave Clements bought the shack at 7612 Oak Street in 1992, when signs for the S & J Lounge and the Christmas Bar Lounge were still up, and opened Snake and Jake's Christmas Club Lounge in 1994 by combining those names. The Christmas Lounge had belonged to a man named Sam Christmas; S & J came from Richard Brown, known as Snake, and a partner named Jake. Clements kept the room dark, with Christmas lights and a wreath year-round.
