The Blind Tiger

1819 Spring Garden St, Greensboro, NC · about 120

History

The Blind Tiger opened in 1988 at 2115 Walker Avenue as a neighborhood bar and quickly became a live-music club, giving early shows to Ben Folds Five, Hootie and the Blowfish, and Edwin McCain. Owner Don “Doc” Beck moved it in 2011 to a larger room at 1819 Spring Garden Street, with space for about 520 and a patio. It booked local, regional, and national bands most nights. After shootings outside the club and the loss of its ABC permits, it closed in 2022, and the address reopened as Hangar 1819.
