Pauly's Hotel

337 Central Ave, Albany, NY · about 120

History

The Pauly family opened Pauly’s Hotel in 1862 at Central Avenue and Quail Street, and the room is widely called Albany’s oldest tavern. For decades it was also a small music club booking bands of all kinds, with a capacity around 120. Longtime area club owner Kip Finck bought the business in 2019, renovated it, and installed a new sound system, only to have the pandemic darken the room for much of the next year. He closed Pauly’s at the end of November 2023 and put the business up for sale.
