The Basement East
East Nashville · 917 Woodland St, Nashville, TN
The Basement East is the East Nashville sister room of The Basement, opened in 2015 by Mike Grimes and Dave Brown at 917 Woodland Street. Grimes, co-owner of Grimey's record store, and Brown had run the original Basement under Grimey's on Eighth Avenue South since 2005; Brown spotted the roughly 14,000-square-foot Woodland Street building in late 2014, and the first show was in April 2015. The club is mainly standing room, with a limited number of table seats, and its box office also serves the original room. Fans nicknamed it The Beast.
