The Magic Bag is at 22920 Woodward Avenue in Ferndale, not Ann Arbor. It opened in 1921 as the Ferndale Theater for films and newsreels, later became Studio North, and was shut down in 1989 after years as an adult theater. It was renovated and reopened in the early 1990s as the Magic Bag concert room (published accounts date the concert reopening to 1991 or 1996) and holds a few hundred people.
