Milwaukee

Bio
Violent Femmes are an American folk-punk band from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Founding members Gordon Gano (guitar and lead vocals) and Brian Ritchie (bass and backing vocals) still lead the group, with multi-instrumentalist Blaise Garza and drummer John Sparrow. Their 1983 self-titled debut on Slash includes “Blister in the Sun,” “Kiss Off,” and “Add It Up,” after the Pretenders’ James Honeyman-Scott heard them busking. They split in 2009, reunited in 2013, and released We Can Do Anything in 2016.
