Bio

The Promise Ring was a Milwaukee rock band formed in 1995 and tied to the second wave of emo, with a sound that also moved through indie rock and power pop. Guitarist Jason Gnewikow and drummer Dan Didier started the group; Cap'n Jazz guitarist Davey von Bohlen soon joined as singer, and Scott Schoenbeck later played bass. Their studio albums include 30° Everywhere (1996), Nothing Feels Good (1997), Very Emergency (1999), and Wood/Water (2002). The band split in 2002 and last played a reunion show in 2016.
