Trouble Funk
Washington

Bio
Trouble Funk is a Washington, D.C. R&B and funk band that helped popularize go-go, the District's nonstop, call-and-response dance music. Active since 1978, the group is known for the anthem "Hey, Fellas" and for "Pump Me Up," later sampled by Public Enemy and others. Studio albums include Drop the Bomb (1982) on Sugar Hill, In Times of Trouble (1983), and Trouble Over Here Trouble Over There (1987). Bassist Big Tony Fisher and Timothius "Tee-Bone" David are among the members named on the band's page, and the group still plays D.C. stages, including the National Mall and the 9:30 Club.
