Bio
of Montreal is an indie pop band from Athens, Georgia, founded in 1996 by Kevin Barnes and named for a failed romance with a woman from Montreal. The band is tied to the Elephant 6 collective. Barnes is the singer, multi-instrumentalist, and only continuous member; the lineup around Barnes has changed many times. Early records include Cherry Peel (1997). They have been photographed live at Treefort in 2015, at the Positivus festival in Latvia in 2014, and on other stages.
