Bio

W.A.S.P. is an American heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1982 and associated with the early Sunset Strip shock-rock scene. Its first two albums, W.A.S.P. (1984) and The Last Command (1985), were certified gold by the RIAA; the band has sold more than 12 million records worldwide. In the mid-1980s it was a target of the Parents Music Resource Center, a fight the group answered on "Harder, Faster." Founding singer-guitarist Blackie Lawless has led the band through its career.
