Sir Woman

Bio

Sir Woman is the Austin project of Kelsey Wilson, co-founder of Wild Child and a member of the roots-rock group Glorietta. Her site says the name came from a security guard yelling both “sir” and “woman” at a festival as Wild Child headed into a hiatus, and that the songs lean into funk, soul, R&B, and gospel. The self-titled full-length arrived in 2022. She was named Artist of the Year at the 2023 Austin Music Awards, and her Bandcamp page notes Austin Music Awards wins for Best New Act in 2020 and for Best Band and Best Vocalist in 2022.
