Sam Fribush Organ Trio

Bio

Keyboardist Sam Fribush, born in Greensboro, North Carolina, leads the Sam Fribush Organ Trio, a Hammond-organ group rooted in soul jazz, funk, and hip-hop. After studying contemporary improvisation at the New England Conservatory, he played nightly in New Orleans at rooms such as Preservation Hall, the Maple Leaf, and the Spotted Cat, then returned home in 2020. With guitarist Charlie Hunter and drummer Geoff Clapp he debuted the trio in 2021 on Vol. 1: Riverboat and Vol. 2: The Root, both produced by Hunter, and followed with People Please in 2024. He also plays organ and piano with Hiss Golden Messenger.
