History

The Lonesome Rose opened in November 2018 on San Antonio’s St. Mary’s Strip, in a stretch once home to clubs such as Taco Land and Saluté. Nightlife operators Danny Delgado and Joey Cano built it as a 21-and-over honky-tonk with a full bar, a vinyl jukebox, a dance floor, and a large backyard. Weekend live music is booked by musician Garrett T. Capps and mixes local bands with touring country, honky-tonk, and rock acts that also play Austin. The room sits in Tobin Hill and leans on two-step dancing rather than a rock-club setup.
